Embajador (formally Prince of Tides) is an 80-ft Offshore Voyager motor yacht originally commissioned in 2006 and recently received an extensive refit. She exudes traditional charm with fine wood interiors and classic exterior lines. On her maiden voyage as the official Black River Caviar ambassador yacht, the first port-of-call is to be Ensenada, Mexico on the way south through Baja California, Mainland Coastal Mexico, Central America, through the Panama Canal and on to the Caribbean.

I’ve owned a lot of boats over the years and bought this one just before Christmas 2018.  My long-time friend and business partner, Ted Herrick ,has joined me as operating partner.  She is 118 gross tons, 80 feet in length with 3 large staterooms + crew quarters, all with ensuite heads, and is captained by my son, Alex.  This is my second Offshore yacht.  Offshore specializes in Pilot house boats, meaning that they typically have a steering station located and accessed from within the main confines of the cabin

Alex and I extensively traveled the western mainland coast of Mexico (Costa Alegre) and The Sea of Cortez over the last 3 years with our family and friends aboard Coastal Estate, my last Offshore.  This new adventure will take us further into Mexico and well beyond.

Embajador is considerably bigger and more comfortable than any of the other boats that I’ve owned.  We look most forward to enjoying the numerous outdoor common areas.  These include a rear fishing deck just off of the water, the california deck 4 steps up, the upper boat deck behind the skybridge, and the bow.  We also plan to make use of the roof deck just forward of the portuguese bridge for lounging in the sun.  She is no speed boat, comfortably cruising at about 10 knots while burning close to 16 gallons of fuel per hour.

The captain, crew, and guests, arrived on Feb 22, 2019. Before leaving home port in San Diego plenty of Black River Caviar was stocked onboard!
