Exploring Barra De Navidad

By Chris Foster 5/1/19

The next morning after returning from our successful fishing expedition west of Barra, the admiral and I decided to get on our Go-Cycles and head up the road through Culebra, Colima to check out the surrounding area.

The town is pretty darn quiet, especially in the morning.

Grand Bay’s golf course/club lays just beyond the town of Culebra. On this day one set of golfers had the whole beautiful course to themselves..

A few homes line the course. A number of undeveloped lots lay nearby. Obviously someone had some big plans for this place.

This Enterprising Fisherman Was Casting His Net On a Waterhole???

The course backs up to the ocean and a beautiful secluded beach.

Naturally, The Admiral And I Were Parched After The Ride And Were Compelled To Stop At This Cantina on Pylons Over The Bay On The Way Back To The Boat

Back To Town For More Shopping And Not The Best Lunch... That afternoon the women talked us into venturing back into downtown Barra for some shopping. The water-taxis were requiring everyone to wear life vests that day, detracting a bit from the James Bond feeling of it all.

We had lunch at Resturante Morris. The ladies had to step over a severed chicken head on the way to the washroom. Luckily it was after we had eaten.

A Typical Mexican Scene…

Ted is back down in Barra this week with his family and will return again next with me when we will be cruising southward to Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa.

This will mark the southern most point that Alex and I have ever cruised, thus turning the page to a whole new set of adventures. We hope that you will join us.

Thanks again to our sponsors at Black River Caviar. (Click on over to make your next adventure or event extra special!)
